NTPA Tech Update

Question:
Hey Richwine,
When did the hitch hole get bigger? I went to a pull this winter and the hook wouldn't go in my hitch. What the heck are you guys doing?
Answer:
The hitch for NTPA vehicles has been 3-3/4" X 3" for several years but, the sleds weren't required to increase the size of the anti-unhook device till 2008. Now that WPI and NASOA both are requiring the bigger anti-unhook bump on the hook, you will have to have the prescribed NTPA 3" wide X 3-3/4" long hole in your hitch or you won't hook to the sled.

ORVTPA Opens Season at Owenton, KY
Here are a few videos from the season opener at Owenton, KY. (Thanks to Eric Prewitt) First video is of the Prewitt Pulling team making the debut of their new Minnie Mo named "Minnie Moline". Eric mentioned that it had been about 15yrs since that tractor had seen the track....not sure where they got it from, but they have updated it quite a bit and made a very respectful pass on it's maiden run. Good job guys!
2nd Video is Chris Blackbourne on the Lil' Sailor who I believe won the class....Congrats Chris!
Ted Dibble and son also made their maiden pass...on something unique...A 4 cyl. Super MTA Diesel converted to alcohol with complete alum. sheetmetal. Looks nice and I would have to think that they will be running right up there with the rest of them very soon!

More Pics of Auen's JD SSD at Bullet Motor Sports
I am posting a few more photos of the JD of Stanley Auen's that Bullet Motor Sports is finishing up. As you can see, everything is done with top notch craftsmanship. They hope to start it for the first time shortly and make a test run on their private track. The JD is sporting a steel billet head and with almost 650 CI (10.5 Liter)this thing should be a beast!
Look for the New Deutz "Silver Bullet Reloaded" to debut sometime in June....either at the PPL in Hillsboro or at Tomah! We will be publishing the "build" of the Silver Bullet Reloaded as it comes together, so stay tuned and be looking for it before it takes it maiden run!

Mod Tractor Competitor Letter from Doug Roberts

Doug has issued his response to Wayne Longneckers letter and can be viewed Here
Also, Doug had put together a Mod Tractor Engine Comparison that I think you will find very informative. Myself, after reading all the letters from everyone and looking at the data...I would say that I have to agree with what Doug is saying, that something needs to be done before things get worse. Again, that is just my opinion.
